When you visit Seoul you see a lot of Lotte around – Lotte hotel Seoul, Lotte supermarket, Lotte tower… They all belong to the famous Lotte group.

I have stayed in the Lotte hotel Seoul several times and will stay there again, if I get a reasonable rate. Sometimes rooms there can become very pricey:(

But if Lotte hotel offers good discounts, I stay with them. Why?

The atmosphere in the hotel is welcoming. The staff is friendly, and tries to accommodate your needs. A concierge can give good advice where to eat, how to get from point A to point B, the best entertainment and much more.

The breakfast menu is really rich, you can choose between delicious Korean and European dishes.

The Lotte Hotel rooms

The Lotte hotel has nice, cozy rooms. They are not very big, but are well equipped with  everything you need, and nobody tries to hide a hairdryer from you. (I still cannot understand so many hotels  hide hairdryers, which is very irritating!). The bathtub has nice bath salts, so it might be a good idea for a relaxing end to your day. You also can choose a pillow you like.

The Club lounge has nice snacks throughout the day; food there is very tasty and you can order an omelette for your breakfast as well. The staff working there is very polite and friendly.

The hotel gy is well-equipped, but I heard that sauna and swimming pool are closed until May for renovations.

There is the only thing I would change in the lobby of the hotel– I would put more sofas there as there are not enough chairs to sit on while waiting in this huge lobby area.

The location of Lotte Hotel Seoul

The Lotte Hotel is perfect for shoppers,  as it is connected to a Lotte department store, which also has  with a variety of eating places. It is near a tourist area of  Myeongdong and a subway station. The Seoul Art museum is not far away. Behind the hotel there is one of the best Korean restaurants.

And finally  – you can take a shuttle bus to and from the airport. The bus stop is on the street in front of the hotel. It takes around 1, 5 hours to get there and costs 16,000 KRW. ( around 9 euros). If you go by taxi it takes about one our, but it costs 57,000 KRW. I took the shuttle to the airport and really liked the huge and comfortable bus. Just check the service hours !

I like the hotel’s Italian Penninsula restaurant, which is on the ground floor. They had a nice tasting menu with 6 mouth-watering Italian dishes to choose from, including a delicious sea food selection.
