There are two Harbor Grand Hotels in Hong Kong. The one I am reviewing is located in East Hong Kong, which is a few minutes walking distance from Fortress Hill MTR Station and a tram stop. The hotel also provides a free shuttle bus to East Hong Kong and Causeway Bay – Central Area.
The hotel is in close proximity to the dining, shopping and fashion areas of the city. It is only a couple of kilometers from the World Trade Center, Times Square Shopping mall and the Temple Street Night Market.
The hotel has 828 contemporary designed rooms, which are not very spacious, but are comfortable. The rooms are equipped with all the amenities you need. My tip would be to ask for a room on one of the higher floors so that you can admire the stunning views of Victoria harbor.
I liked the views from the Harbor Club (floors 37-41), where you can enjoy their daily cocktails and canapés. The service was also very good. I should mention that the staff in the hotel are well trained and very helpful.
The hotel has a signature Le 188 restaurant on the 41st floor that serves good food and has impressive 180-degree panoramic views. Even the locals gather there for family celebrations. You can enjoy Cantonese, European, Japanese and international cuisines.
The hotel has an excellent buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi, outdoor swimming pool, spa facilities and a gymnasium.
I also learned that this hotel has won numerous awards for its services.
The Harbor Grand Hotel is very convenient for business people, but if you are just looking around Hong Kong, it’s a great place to stay as well.
I have to admit that the two Indian doormen did add some charm to the hotel as well.
The address of the hotel: 23 Oil Street, North Point, tel: (852) 21212616.
